Pics & Pops
It’s been an unconventional year. Let’s mark it with some unconventional portraits.
School photos are a milestone, a rite of passage, marking another year, another grade. Among the things Covid-19 has taken from us, for many that includes an opportunity for school photos. But this time, no cheesy poses or meh backgrounds. School photos don’t have to be blah. Let’s make them artful, classic and kid-directed!

A loco pop for the road. I like to think of it as an incentive, not a bribe:) We all need a little something to get excited about, right?
What should we expect?
I want to see your kids in all their glory! That usually means I lay all shame aside and do whatever it takes to get them to open up. We may play games. We may sing some songs. Or just talk about what matters to them. We will NOT be asking anyone to say cheese. Kids have the most amazing expressions all on their own when they feel safe and seen.
Is 5 minutes enough time?
Yep. Kids generally feel way less constraints then we boring adults do. Once we start working, they warm right up. You can prep them ahead of time that it will quick and easy and they get a popsicle treat when it’s all done.
What about siblings?
If you have more than one kiddo you’d like to have photographed, you can sign up for back to back slots and I will grab a quick photo of them together at the end of both sessions.
What should my kid wear?
Honestly, I want these photos to be as reflective of your kids personality as possible. Why not let them pick? Or you pick something you know you both can get on board with. The photos will be from the chest up so a simple shirt or dress is perfect. The backdrop will be black so colors are completely up to you.
What Covid precautions will be in place?
The session will be in my garage with the door opened for open air. I will be masked and will have hand sanitizer available.
