The summer sun shone gold at Saint Pawley’s Island the day of Elizabeth and Trevyn's beautiful beachside wedding. The sweet chapel overlooking the marsh and drapes of Spanish moss above a glittering dance floor created a stunning setting for photos. Beauty was reflected in the beloved friends, family, flora, and fauna surrounding the couple.
As a Triangle wedding photographer, I love capturing not only the anticipated wedding events but also the intimate intricacies of quiet moments on the big day—getting primped and prepped and ready, inside jokes shared between friends, and sweet seconds before the ceremony. It’s in these small, meaningful moments that the magic of a wedding truly shines.
“Miracles are a retelling in small letters of the very same story which is written across the whole world in letters too large for some of us to see.”
These words couldn’t ring truer at weddings. Small letters—small miracles—are found in the love shared between two people, the friends and family who gather to celebrate with them. In the sunlight through mossy drapes, glittering like diamonds on a blue sea, in singing and dancing and the stomping of feet. Small miracles are in a wedding.
The photos I took for Elizabeth and Trevyn’s wedding are a true testament to the small miracle of love. Whether I’m capturing the beauty of a destination wedding like this or working closer to home as a Durham photographer, I am reminded of why I love what I do. It was an honor to be invited to document this beautiful day with the couple and their beloved.
If you’re planning a wedding and searching for a Durham wedding photographer to capture your love story, I’d be thrilled to connect and help preserve the memories of your special day.
